Hotel charging is often unreliable even when a charger is listed. Several guests found the property had none, or only a connector their car couldn't use, such as a Tesla-only unit for a rental Polestar. Others plugged in and hit locked handles or sessions that quit within seconds, with support unable to help; one Rivian owner needed about five hours to free the cable.
Owners who made hotel charging work planned around it. Checking recent PlugShare check-ins before booking helped some skip chargers that looked fine on the listing but weren't. Slow Level 1 outlets only reached 80% overnight, and fees surprised others, such as a $5 hourly parking charge added to the per-kWh rate. Most treated a nearby fast charger as the backup.
