The guest surprised by hotel charging fees on top of the room

What people actually reported
$0.26/kWh plus $5/hr parking fee while plugged in
“I got hit at a Home2 Suites in Grand Rapids: $0.26/kWh looked fine, but there was also a $5/hour parking charge while plugged in, even though parking is free for guests otherwise. ChargePoint said the hotel sets it, though they did refund the parking part.”

Hourly billing worked out to about $0.54/kWh
“Mine was billed by the hour instead of per kWh, which made it hard to compare. $4/hour for 7.4 kW, so about $0.54/kWh, and it goes up to $5/hour if the car finishes overnight.”

Saw $0.40+/kWh hotel L2 pricing; stopped plugging in
“Yeah, I've seen $0.40+/kWh on hotel L2 a lot lately, and a few tack a convenience fee on top. I just don't plug in at hotels anymore unless it's clearly posted as free or very cheap.”
