Stuck comparing three EVs under $45K — what actually matters beyond 0-60 and range?

Been going in circles between three EVs under $45K for two weeks now just eyeballing spec pages and I don't think I'm comparing the right things. Everyone's "best EV" lists seem to just rank by 0-60 and range, but I have a feeling that's not what actually matters day to day. What should I actually be weighing instead?

Built a spreadsheet on exactly this a while back comparing the metrics that actually matter (not just range and price): NACS-native vs. adapter-required, DC fast charge curve consistency (not just peak kW), warranty transfer terms if you sell in 3 years, and whether the infotainment is a subscription trap. Happy to share the sheet — the short version is the 'best' list looks completely different once you weight for those instead of just 0-60 and range.

The DC fast charge curve point is the one people skip and it's the one that actually matters day to day — a car that peaks at 250kW for ninety seconds and falls off a cliff after 20% state of charge loses to one that holds a flatter 150kW curve out to 60%, every real-world stop. If you're only looking at the headline peak number on the spec sheet you're comparing marketing copy, not charging time.

Can back this up — logged actual charge sessions on two cars with near-identical peak-kW specs, and the one with the flatter curve consistently got me back on the road 8-10 minutes faster on a real stop. Peak number is close to useless in isolation.

Yes, literally a graph — charge rate (kW) on one axis, state of charge percent on the other. Batteries accept power fastest when mostly empty and taper as they fill up, same physics as any battery. A flatter curve just means the taper happens later and more gradually instead of dropping off hard.

Warranty transfer terms matters more than people give it credit for. Bought used specifically because the battery warranty transferred in full, saved me from guessing at degradation risk.

Add towing capacity to the list if that matters to anyone — wildly different between models that otherwise look similar on paper.

Towing's not on my radar but third-row space and car seat anchor placement should be on this list too. One of the three I looked at had LATCH anchors buried so deep behind the seat cushion I needed both hands and a flashlight to reach them. Spec sheet says nothing about that.

Varies by brand — some lock genuinely useful nav/routing features, some it's just premium audio EQ presets. Read the fine print per model, don't assume either way.

0-60 numbers are the least useful spec on any of these cars for anyone who isn't drag racing their commute. Glad someone's finally weighting for the stuff that matters.

Since I'm already on record here — reliability ratings from the last couple owner-survey cycles are worth weighting too, more than people give them credit for. Wasn't on my radar three years ago when I bought mine, would look at it harder now.

Nobody's mentioned how far the nearest service center is for each of these, and that mattered more to me than 0-60 or range. One of the three I was comparing had a service network that stopped two states short of where I actually live. Doesn't show up on a spec sheet either.
