Spent most of last weekend trying to get a real number for what it costs to install a charger for just one apartment spot in 2026 and came up mostly empty. Every article I find is written for single-family homeowners with their own garage, or aimed at property developers planning a whole complex, nothing in between for someone who just wants one outlet at one assigned spot. I called two local electricians for quotes and got numbers that were $1,200 apart for what sounded like the same job, which didn't exactly build my confidence in either estimate. Before I call a third one, I'm hoping someone who's actually done this as a renter, not a homeowner, can tell me what a realistic number looks like, and what makes the price swing so much between quotes.
