What actually convinced you to get a Level 2 charger installed vs just sticking with Level 1?

Trying to figure out if a Level 2 install is actually worth it or if I'm just going to be paying for speed I don't need. What was the actual thing that pushed you to upgrade -- was it mileage, was it just impatience, was it a specific moment where Level 1 wasn't enough? And for anyone who waited a while before switching, do you wish you'd done it sooner or did Level 1 genuinely hold you over fine?

Honestly I never gave Level 1 a real chance. I picked up the Ioniq 5 and knew right away I'd be putting serious miles on it, and I did....120,000 miles in 4.5 years. The charger that comes with the car would have been sitting on the garage floor all night every night and still losing ground. What I didn't know until later is how much you lose on 120V. It's around 21% vs about 8% on Level 2. With Connecticut rates that's real money going to heat. $400 for the electrician plus $750 for the JuiceBox 40. I'd do it again tomorrow. So to answer your question, no, I don't wish I'd waited lol

I'm the other way around. We have two ID.4s and for the first while the commute car ran only on the included Level 1 cord, and it was fine. That's about 4 miles of range per hour, so if it's plugged in overnight a normal commute comes back. My only real complaint was the plug slowly working itself loose in the outlet.
